What is BioThane®?

BioThane® is the brand name of the highest quality waterproof webbing that is currently available on the market. The material is durable with a tested average break strength of 340kg, is waterproof, easy to clean and remains always odour-free. Genuine BioThane® waterproof webbing is of a higher quality, much smoother to touch, flexuous and more durable with a longer lifeline than other waterproof webbings on the market. 

BioThane® is a coated webbing, with waterproof, stink proof, non stretch, colour fast & wipe clean benefits! All products made from BioThane® are clearly labeled (and items made from a lower cost waterproof webbing alternative are labelled in the product name). BioThane® has been well tested for durability, strength, and colour fastness by the manufacturers.

The strength comes from the polyester webbing core, whilst the thin TPU coating gives waterproofing, whilst also making it stink-proof and easy to clean in your kitchen sink. BioThane® is a great cruelty free alternative to leather as it offers a similar look plus, it doesn't stretch and has the added benefits above.

 

What size collar should I order?

Please measure your dog's neck, using a fabric tape measure, and ensure you are able to fit two fingers between the tape measure and your dog's neck. If your dog is nearing the end of a size, please opt for the bigger size and let us know the exact measurement in your order notes so we can create a custom fit collar for you.

We offer 5 sizes in our collar range as per the below:

XS - 8-12" (width 16mm)

S - 10-14" (width 16mm)

M - 12-16" (width 19mm)

L - 15-20" (width 25mm)

XL - 19-24" (width 25mm) 

We use set widths for our collars dependant on the size ordered but if you would prefer a different width please contact us before ordering.

 

How do I clean my BioThane® products?

We recommend to clean your BioThane® products with warm soapy water. If the product is very dirty then first soak in soapy water, then scrub with a cleaning brush or cloth.

We do not recommend using bleach when cleaning your BioThane products, as this can bleach out the webbing colours.

The solid brass hardware we use can tarnish a little when its metal components copper and zinc are exposed to oxygen. This is a natural process. The oils in your skin also have an effect on brass, so the more an item is used, the more tarnishing can occur. You can clean the brass components with a little lemon juice and baking soda on a damp cloth. 

If one of our solid brass trigger clasps become stiff you can use a little WD40 or similar lubricant on it. 

 

How long will my order take to make?

We aim to ship out orders within 4-5 working days of your order being placed. However, due to the handmade nature of our items, some products can take up to 3-4 weeks to dispatch, depending on the product.

If you wish to know the exact timescale for your order please email us before placing and we will be able to give you an idea.

Turnaround times exclude delivery time. Different delivery options are available at the checkout.

 

How long do UK orders take to deliver?

Your order will be sent with Royal Mail Tracked 48. On the day you receive your dispatch email your order should arrive within 2-4 business days.

Do you delivery internationally?

Please contact us on hello@franksgoods.com letting us know the products you are interested in ordering so we can calculate the weight and we will give you a quote.

 

Can I return, exchange or refund my order?

If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your order please contact us straight away at hello@franksgoods.com. Any items which are faulty upon arrival are entitled to a refund, provided the customer provides us with proof of the fault. We cannot accept returns or refunds on items which have been custom made to order.

If you have ordered the incorrect size we may be able to offer an exchange for the correct size, but this will be at the customer's expense.
